BoardroomUK wants everyone to be able to use our website, whatever their abilities or the technology they use. This Accessibility Statement explains the standard we are working towards, what we have done so far, where we know the website falls short and how to contact us if you have difficulty.
This statement applies to the website at boardroomuk.com, including our articles, service pages, forms, checkout and interactive tools.
1. Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor, speech, cognitive and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off project. We consider it when we design new pages, add features and publish content.
2. Measures we have taken
2.1 Keyboard navigation
You should be able to reach and use menus, links, buttons, forms and the checkout using a keyboard alone. Interactive elements have a visible focus indicator so you can see where you are on the page.
2.2 Skip link
A “Skip to content” link is provided at the start of each page. It allows keyboard and screen reader users to bypass the main navigation and go straight to the main content.
2.3 Colour contrast on our dark theme
Our website uses a dark colour scheme. We have chosen text and background colours with the aim of meeting the WCAG AA contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and user interface components. Information is not conveyed by colour alone.
2.4 Reduced motion
Our website respects the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system or browser. When this setting is turned on, animations and transitions are reduced or switched off.
2.5 Text alternatives
Meaningful images have alternative text that describes their content or purpose. Decorative images are marked so that screen readers can ignore them.
2.6 Structure and readability
Pages use a logical heading structure, descriptive link text and clear labels on form fields. Longer pages, such as our policies, include a table of contents built from the headings. We write in plain English where possible and explain technical terms.
2.7 Zoom and responsive layout
The website is designed to work on different screen sizes and to remain usable when text is enlarged up to 200% or the page is zoomed up to 400%, without content being lost.
3. Known limitations
We know that some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible:
| Area | Known issue | What we are doing |
|---|---|---|
| Interactive tools | Results in the governance scorecard and cost calculator may not always be announced to screen reader users as they update | Reviewing how results are announced and adding clearer status messages |
| Forms | Some error messages in contact and project brief forms may not be clearly linked to the field concerned | Testing with assistive technology and improving error handling |
| Cookie consent banner | The banner is provided by a third party, and we cannot fully control its accessibility | Configuring it for keyboard use and contrast and monitoring updates |
| Older content and documents | Some older articles or downloadable documents may lack full alternative text or accessible formatting | Reviewing content as part of our regular update cycle |
If you find a problem that is not listed here, please tell us.
4. How we test
We check the website using a combination of automated testing tools, manual keyboard testing, browser zoom and screen reader checks. We test new templates and features before they go live and carry out periodic reviews of existing pages. Automated tools cannot find every issue, so we also welcome feedback from users.
5. Feedback and contact
If you have difficulty using any part of our website, or need information in a different format such as large print, plain text or an accessible document, please contact us:
- Email: support@boardroomuk.com (subject line “Accessibility”)
- Telephone: +44 824 – 2637 – 8823 or +44 813 – 3445 – 9349
- Post: BoardroomUK, Babarsari Sleman, No 23 Ruko Biru Kab. Sleman, London, United Kingdom
Please tell us the web address of the page, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use, if any. We will acknowledge your message within 5 working days and aim to respond fully within 15 working days. You can also use our contact page.
Tip: If you would prefer to discuss our services by telephone rather than using our online forms, just call us and we will take your details.
6. Enforcement and your rights
As a service provider, we have duties under the Equality Act 2010, including a duty to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when using our services. If you contact us about an accessibility problem, we will consider what reasonable adjustments we can make.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010 in England, Scotland and Wales. In Northern Ireland, equivalent protections apply under separate legislation, and the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland has responsibility. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can find information about your rights and how to get advice on gov.uk.
7. Reviewing this statement
We will review this statement at least once a year, and whenever we make significant changes to the website. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
